I’ve had no results back and it’s been 2 weeks I’ve just wasted nearly £200 on this test ridiculous

Dog had swollen paws with sores. Antibiotics worked for a while but we wanted to find the cause. The vet was charging £300 – £500 for allergy tests so we thought we would try this one for £85. The test kit was easy to use but the dog didn’t have much saliva to soak the swab so you have to keep trying until the spot on the swab stick turns red (I also added a couple of drops of water as they said you could do that too when you need to squeeze the swab into the tube containing liquid) we sent the test back within the 24 hours they recommended by signed for post and they acknowledged receipt. The results of 114 different foods and things came back via email after one week and it was very easy to understand. We are now eliminating certain foods and trying to keep the dog away from feathers, time will tell but we hope this will be the cure for him.

Not going to lie it was a bit tricky to do the test with a hyper staffy 16 month old to the point where he actually chewed the test I didn’t think it would work but somehow miracles happen and it did ! My Errol has been really red raw and itchy with poorly tummy’s since he was born vet used to say give them chicken and rice so we did as bland diet sometimes we give him fish and rice he was on growing free but stopped eating it so we put him on food from our local farm “ chicken nuggets “ anyways back to the test after he chewed it I rescued it sent it off and he has a massive allergy to grass pollen grass seed etc and he has allergies not so severe but enough to irritate or chicken fish white rice and numerous other things ! So all the time when he was I’ll we we’re unknowingly feeding him things he’s allergic too 🙁 . I highly recommend this test to anyone we also paid the extra £80 to get results in 3 days which I’m so pleased we did because we’ve been feeding him his diet of all things he’s allergic too ! He is now back on grain free and rice free food and we have also noticed a massive change in his skin he was always quite “ dirty looking “ and his fur was like pine needles since we stopped all stuff he’s allergic to and put him on specialist food his coat is like a soft blanket it’s not like pine needs or a wire brush his red raw patches are clearing up and he’s slightly pink but it’s only been a few days I’m so grateful for the test because without it he would still be suffering poor little soul !

Thank you again for the test and the quick results it’s helped us massively with Errol ( mind trying to walk a mental staffy and not let him on grass is a mission in itself )

The product was very straight forward to use and much cheaper than having one done at the vets.
The results, 17 pages of food and environmental triggers my dog had!, were very contradictory so I still had to give them to my dog and see if it caused her itching. For example it said she was allergic to all squashes, listing pumpkin but further down the page it stated that she could eat pumpkin. It said that she was allergic to oats but not oatmeal (she is allergic to both!)
Not sure I would buy it again as I still had to test out each allergy group for accuracy. Next time I would just do an exclusion diet as that’s essentially what I’m still doing now!

Got results back for dog. We knew her mum was a shih-tzu but was unsure on father. We’ve been told from different vets possibly jack russle, King Charles spaniel, and other small breeds. She’s a small dog and we did test out of curiosity. Results were 1/3 whippet, 1/3 bulldog, and rest was a mix of of labrador retriever, poodle, and beagle. We emailed about the results, but the assured us it was correct. Not sure what to think on this…

For the 5 years I’ve had her, I’d always assumed my dog was allergic to environmental things like pollen so when she appeared to be having a bad reaction in the middle of winter I knew it couldn’t be that.

She has always been on a grain free, raw diet but this reaction followed a couple of months of intensive training with a lot of grain free training treats. So I suspected they were the culprit. She was scratching like mad, making herself bleed, and had lost fur around her eyes. It was when she’d chewed her paws so badly that she couldn’t walk for a week (needing boots/socks afterwards) that I realised we should try an allergy test. Even though it was a bit of a gamble, if it worked, the cost would far outweigh the medication costs usually prescribed by the vet.

In the past my itchy dog has been on various types of medication, eg. Antihistamines, apoquel, medicated shampoos and nothing worked. Vets were sceptical about allergy testing and I’d let myself be talked of it due to the cost. The affinity test was much cheaper than anything I’d been offered at a vet so I thought it was worth a punt.

Using the test was ok, although I needed someone to help. Ideally one person to hold the dog with the syringe sponge in her mouth and another person to hold up a delicious treat to make her salivate. The test circle didn’t go completely red for us, just red around the edges. We rang Affinity and they assured us that would be fine.

The results came back in 3.5 weeks and they were mind blowing! They stated she was reactive to ant bites (which we had once had to get vet treatment for), salmon, chicken, turkey (all of which were in her training treats), flaxseed oil (which was in an anti itch skin supplement I’d been giving her), green peas, white rice, corn and rosemary!

We cut out anything with those ingredients in and stuck to the things she hadn’t reacted to in the test and, one month later, her skin is the best it’s ever been. It’s taken that time to see the difference but it’s so much quicker than trying a food elimination diet over several months and cheaper of course than multiple prescriptions of useless medications.

Bought this for £70 as a present. We believe our dog is a chihuahua cross with terrier. The results took months, had to be chased up and when arrived was a random made up email about her being a random Chinese dog breed no one has heard of. Rip off merchants. I ll be contacting amazon for a refund.
