I have used this product but unfortunately it hasn’t done the trick for me. Still have broken veins and I got a little irritation from it.

The item is well made and easy to use. Instructions are clear and if followed you will see a difference. Only had 5 days but pleased with the results so far. Needs 1 x aa battery to operate.

I had some spot, and wanted just trying something different than creams. It is really working, I’m surprised. Instruction is clear saying how to use it. Thank you seller

Well these pens can go for a lot more than this one. It comes nicely packaged in heavy card box (think mobile phone style). There is the instruction booklet and the pen – it runs of a single AA battery but that isn’t included, I was surprised it wasn’t rechargeable but there you go. The pen is quite sleek and has a quality feel to it.
There are two light modes – a blue light to get rid of zits and close pores, red light to help clear acne scars and I believe it will work on thread veins.
I’m still not 100% certain how you are supposed to use this pen, I’ve read the booklet and looked on line – some people use it directly onto the skin whereas some use it held an inch or so away. I feel putting it directly on the skin though might spread any acne and encourage dirt even after cleaning your face. So I’ve used it about an inch or so away from my face.
Anyway to start it up keep the power button depressed – the blue light will come on in about 2 seconds, press the button again to cycle it to the red light and again hold the button for a couple of seconds to power it off.
Does it work? Well still early days for me. I get the ocassional spot but I’m not sure if this healed the couple I have had quicker or whether they just naturally disappeared, I feel they did heal quicker than usual although I often think that if you are actively using things like this then they have the effect of you changing your habits i.e. because you’ve used this you may unconsciously touch the spot less so aiding the healing process.
But if you are going to try one then at least try one that isn’t going to cost a fortune and at the current price of a touch over £15 then it’s worth a punt.

I often headline a review with a simple “It works!”

Which for many a thing is sufficient of an endorsement, because that’s the bottom line right?

Other products present a reviewer, especially one from new – out of the box, (or even with the understood month window a Vine Reviewer is extended) more a practical problem.

Somethings need more time to determine if they are effective.

When that happens as reviews from new are of limited value; they are best considered “holding reviews” which can be revisited if warranted and then updated.

This acne pen is really one of those products.

For me to judge it’s effectiveness I need a spot worthy of attention, then I need the patience to give it five to ten minutes of my time.

That’s the simple facts of the device.

The pen comes with a five minute timer, there are two bulbs emitting red and blue light. The latter I presume is Ultraviolet.

The device presents in a reasonable plastic body, it is battery powered, by one AA – not included, and has single switch.
Long press activates or turns off the device, a short press switches between the lights, at the narrow end is the blue and the wider the red.

Presentation is also reasonably good, the device is contained in a slip enveloper box, which always feels more classy – the plain white box opens conventionally to reveal a cheaper plastic shaped container with the pen and a small manual.
The instructions are short but okay to follow.

There a sticker warning not to immerse in water, which given this is the kind of device that might be kept and used with an over sink mirror in a bathroom is wise.

I can’t say this product works as yet, and the only metric I have is I know the sun, and tanning beds do combat acne – but skin damage from UV is an issue.
The more target nature of the light from this device may then be a comprise solution?

This device requires a AA battery and I think that should be mentioned in the product title. It isn’t clear which way the battery goes into the battery compartment but hubby thought that it was probably with the knobbly bit in first as there is a spring on the lid and that usually goes against the flat side. I thought that it would be USB rechargeable, I would have preferred that in this day and age.

A long press on the power button turns on the blue light and then a short press turns on the red light, which is located at the other end of the device, so you can’t use the two of them together at the same time.

I don’t have acne, just the occasional zit, but I do have some open pores that I would like to close, so I will use the blue light on my nose for that purpose. I wanted the red light for a wrinkle treatment as I don’t have any acne scars. It says to use both lights twice a day and for no more than 5 minutes for each area.

I recently read that blue light and red light therapy can be used to treat eczema and hubby suffers badly with eczema, so I want him to try it for that purpose.

It’s too soon to say if this works for either of for our issues but I will update this review in a month with our results.

Update 14.9.22: My husband only used it once and then wouldn’t use it again as he thought it didn’t work, but I don’t think that was long enough to know. It seems to have minimised my pores on my nose, so I’m happy to continue using it now and again, but I can’t commit to using it daily, it takes too long.

Speedy and easy to use. Very useful for calming isolated spots. It can take time to fully see the results but Great product over all.
