I have been looking for a system for my elderly mother to contact me if she is in trouble, not able to move or fallen over even in the shower. I have studded pull cords and button presses from all kinds of technologies. The Guardian III seemed to have the answer plus I can ring and talk to her if anything seems wrong or not. If you have any queries or problems with the watch the technical support is excellent and when I have rang a tech support engineer Tom is very patient and extremely helpful, this gives me confidence in the system. This is not a cheep answer to the problem but it covers all the gaps in my concerns for my mothers wellbeing and that was a price i was prepared to pay.

We purchased this after my father had a fall and wasn’t able to summon help. For peace of mind, this device is invaluable and allows my father to contact us easily if needed. If the watch detects a fall/sudden drop, then it will ask the wearer if they are okay, if no response then it will send SMS to all the emergency contacts, then attempt to call us in the order we have set up.

Unless you need to monitor pulse and steps, I would suggest turning the device to ‘manual mode’ in the phone app settings to increase battery life. We find the battery is slow to charge (taking several hours), so that’s something to bear in mind as the user won’t be able to wear the watch as it charges. My father charges it in the evening when he is sitting watching TV, as he likes the reassurance of wearing the watch overnight.

With all that said, I do still recommend this watch as I know that it has helped my father maintain his independence and gives both he and us peace of mind. Just be aware to use the watch you will need to pay for the cost of the watch + the ongoing monthly costs (£14.99 per month at time of writing).

Having suffered a stroke at a younger age (51) I was searching while waiting to be discharged from hospital for a watch that would provide my family, friends and myself peace of mind that I was doing okay while at home during time on my own. The CPR Guardian watch not only provides this for us all but it gives me a steer on my BPM 24/7 and step count which really supports me informing the medical profession over a period of time how I am recovering. This watch also enables me with the emergency button/SOS contacts to reach out to friends and family as at the moment of my stroke my phone was too complicated for me, so the idea of pushing one button to contact my designated SOS contacts makes me feel safe. I even have the watch with a girlie pink strap which is a bonus ! The team at CPR have been absolutely brilliant, I have emailed and spoken to them several times while ensuring my watch and app was being used to its best potential to support my recovery and their level of understanding and customer service is the best. I have already recommended this watch to others and will continue to do so if you or a family member or friend is in a vulnerable situation. This is what the CPR Guardian is designed for over and above a smart or sports watch and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I’m writing a review, even though I’m about to return this item, as it may help others. This watch is a great idea for older people – it is far less expensive than some other options and you don’t need to tie it to your mobile phone. The watch face is nice and clear and it appears easy to operate, although I only charged it up. I haven’t worn it or activated the SIM.

The reason I am not keeping the watch is the size and appearance. If I was male, I’d probably keep it but it’s very big for a female to wear, in my opinion. Although the shape is quite streamlined it’s just too large for me. It would be good for someone whose eyesight was failing but I don’t need quite such large figures on the watch face (not yet anyway …)

There are only 3 choices of watch strap – black, grey, and pink. Pink is for little girls, in my book. I’m not the sort of woman to wear pink. Black I like but think it would look too heavy with summer clothes. Good for a man though. So I chose grey but now I have seen it, I don’t like it. I don’t tend to wear grey as it doesn’t suit me. I picked it purely as the best of the three.

Over the past couple of days I have been weighing up whether to compromise on the appearance for the sake of cost & safety but I’m not ready to do that yet. For others, especially men and those with a higher risk of falling, this could be a very good buy.

Great customer service received during a small issue we had. Works well and can keep me upto date on wife when I ask it to via the app.

Got this for my mum in case of falls, she is 81 and a bit wobbly. It alerts me and my sisters if she has a fall and she can be anywhere, not just at home.It has gone off several times for minor movements but if she presses the button to say she’s ok it stops. A bit over sensitive but makes us feel she is safe and monitored. If she fell we would definitely know about it, even if she went unconscious. Pretty clever stuff, not perfect, but I think as good as it can be given it’s task

Bought this for my grandma after a number of falls whilst alone at home. Thankfully it hasn’t been needed for it’s main function since, but just been able to check her temperature, how active she has been and her heart rate gives me peace of mind. We have tested the SOS function a number of times and it works no bother, and it’s easy to use.

I bought this for my elderly mother as she was starting to worry about falling and no one being around to known. One day I had just arrived at friend when the watch called me. Mum had fallen and couldn’t get up. I managed to get there whilst calling an ambulance on the way and she was taken to the hospital. It had been a serious fall and if it had not contacted me she would not have got to hospital without further complications. To me it is worth its weight in gold.
