Many items on the blanket to provide interest and a calming influence

My partners dad uses this. At ninety seven years of age he is restricted in what he can do. Having been a busy man most of his life he struggles with what to do with his hands. This seems to help him quite a lot.
He particularly likes to fidget with this when his three year old great granddaughter visits him. They seem to like doing this together and chat about it.
Well made and very colourful.

My grandfather is suffering a bit so I ordered this to help keep him busy and keep his motor skills going:
– The blanket arrived in a nice package and looked like it could be a great gift.
– All aspects to this blanket feel of an excellent quality with some good quality finishing to the stitches.
– There are a lot of different aspects to this to help keep the mind busy, and all fairly basic motor skills as well.
– You can buckle and unbuckle a belt, tie laces, do all sorts really. All basic but really helps.
– The blanket is also nice and soft.
– My wife is an SEN TA and she ordered one of these for her SEN child at school. She said that it also works
perfectly for her child and calming her child down!
Not only is this great for people suffering from dementia, but it also helps those people and children with SEN. So we would definitely recommend it!

This well made item has a little of everything on it, with the option to add a couple of personalised photos too. The emphasis being on ‘a little’ of everything. Some fidget mats are filled with so many different things, that in my opinion, it is just too much for an elderly person who’s mind is tired and struggling to comprehend life in general. This mat is spot on – soft touches, hard touches, cold feeling items, fluffy comforting items, rings to fidget with, fabric to shiffle, a zip which is easy to pull up and down – gives an auditory sensory & a repetitive action. A little crinkly cushion that gives another auditory sensory. Can be laid on the top of someone who is bed bound, or in a lap, or on a table. A family member has Alzheimer’s, late stage – this is perfect when there is nothing left to do other than screw up bedding & sleep…..a fidget mat will at least give some options that would otherwise not be available and this mat is spot on. Well done to the designer. Presented in nice box.

I work in a nursing home for individuals living with dementia and I have these dotted about the care home. It is nice to see that when the residents are walking with purpose and pick them up, they actually sit down and start using them. It works well as an activity for them as well. Will defiantly recommend them.
