Better to buy an electronic one as ye can be sure of a very good reading.
This one is hard to hear , don’t feel it’s a good thermometer at all , I’ll be buying a much better one , though I did get by with this one while I’ll. from Laurence foley.

The thermometer is factory set to °C or °F and is not switchable
The instruction text is so small magnification is required to read them.
The thermometer is supposed to beep on start, after 30 seconds, also on low/high temperature. The beep sound is so low it can only be heard when held against the ear so effectively it doesn’t beep. It is recommended for a more accurate reading 2 minutes in the mouth and 5 minutes under the arm. Dont press the button properly and you dont know that it hasn’t started so waste 2 minutes, wait 1 minute try again
There is no easy way the device can be checked for accuracy and I cannot see anybody returning to China to have it recalibrated effectively a throwaway device if the accuracy is suspect.

This thermometer gives fast, accurate readings. It’s easy to use and the clear case is handy for storage. Much better than other cheap models I’ve tried that take long to register or give unreliable temps. For the low price it works well and does the job. Recommended basic thermometer.

Bought it for a child to take it with us overseas. Unfortunately, it doesn’t beep when the temperature has been measured.
