These enzymes are very good at helping with digestion. However, they are not coated and you can taste the ox bile. If it gets stuck on the way down your throat, which easily happens because they are uncoated, it can take hours to get rid of the taste.

I suffer from IBS – cramping, bloating, pain – and have tried EVERYTHING. Simeticone, beano, charcoal tablets…the only thing that provided relief was a low-fodmap/keto style diet. I’m also a vegetarian, so cutting out beans, legumes, fruit, wheat and most vegetables was HARD, but worth it for the pain relief.

I had pretty much resigned myself to a life of spinach, eggs, nuts and cheese (I’m one of the lucky ones who doesn’t have a problem with dairy). Then at Xmas, my uncle – who also suffers with IBS – let me try some of his Pancreatin enzymes. I cautiously tried a few of my trigger foods (no alcohol or dessert though), half expecting to spend the evening curled in in bed – but it seemed to work! I tried a few triggers the day after returning home (with no enzymes) and had cramping as usual, so I got onto amazon and found these.

They contain a bunch of different enzymes, including a full dose of Pancreatin, and they seem to be working. In fact, last night I decided to do the ultimate test. I ate a large dinner composed ENTIRELY of my worst trigger foods. Usually I would be gassy and cramping within an hour of eating hummus, kale or cruciferous veg, but I was fine all night, and all morning. My inner hippie health nut is over the moon 🙂

Overall I’m very pleased with these enzymes. They are much cheaper, and more effective than Beano (which helps only if I take 3 at a time, and eat very small portions of triggers).

My only gripe is that they contain ox bile – the irony of needing animal products to be able to digest veggie/vegan meals :'(
However I suspect this is a by-product of the meat industry anyway (I doubt there are ox-bile specific farms) and I believe it is more respectful to make use of by-products than to waste them. I’m not going to lose sleep over this.

But it might be worth making a veggie/vegan friendly version, Solgar?

Having suffered with gluten, lactose, fish, crustacean and various spice intolerances over recent years, I’ve tried an array of digestive aids to reduce the bloating, stuffed-ness and so many other digestive issues. When I started with this I initially noticed gaining weight so stopped taking them.
After a while I realised that although gaining weight, I felt better, much much better. I’ve now gone to taking just one a day first thing in the morning and eating better (I struggled with all proteins and as a meat lover this was a major problem too). Now to reduce my weight again I can eat meats for breakfast (yes I know…) and instead of being bloated or stuffed, it helps reduce my weight as this is part of the Atkins diet I believe as meats use more calories to digest that they provide.
I might be wrong, dunno. But it’s working for me and that’s all that matters for not now. Try them if you’re struggling but use them in a way that works for you. They DO appear to help digest otherwise indigestible foodstuffs.

Literally tastes like bull vomit (contains ox bile so not hard to work out why). No coating or anything and the flavour absorbs onto your tongue very quickly so quickly. Great way to put you off your food.

These tablets have magically resolved my IBS symptoms (bloating and constipation). I have been taking them for almost three months now. I take one tablet first thing in the morning.

I have have IBS and suffer a lot with acid reflux. Nothing ever helps me and so I decided to try these and they worked great! My IBS varies but they definitely help me manage my symptoms.

Great product started taking these after my doctor told me I had a digestive problem .after 5/6 days the pain and bloat that I was suffering mainly at night eased so I was finally able to get a good nights sleep .after blood /stool tests and a CT scan I was diagnosed with pancreatic insufficiency I’m still taking them now while waiting for my meds to be sorted and delivered (Creon ) as for people ranting on about how they taste they must be sucking or chewing them . If they can’t swallow them whole i suggest they go and see their ENT specialist as they must have some gag reflux issues

Been taking this product for over 2 weeks and have not seen a difference to my bloating stomach. I will persist but I’m not convinced.
