my mam has early Alzheimers and was forgetting to take tablets and could have possibly taken to many tablets this product has solved our problems, easy to set up.

Only just recently bought for my husband. I dropped a star as setting up was a bit fiddly, especially trying to delete an alarm. I resolved by using Google. It’s now up and running and so far so good.
My husband has been using this now for 2 weeks and we are really pleased with it. Although a bit fiddly setting it up it becomes easier with use. We did find that the disc with day & time was not moving with the rotation. We resolved this by putting pieces of sticky tape under the disc. So far a good purchase.

The clear lid is useful so as to be able to easily monitor whether medication has been taken. I would like to have a label disc that allows you to write on your own descriptions but this is a detail.

It is a very good product which I trialled in my house prior to taking it round to my Dad, who has Alzheimer’s. The idea was that the alarm would go off he would take his pills. The alarm goes off reliably, the tilt action to dismiss the alarm is less reliable with sometimes the alarm staying on for 2 or 3 tilts before being dismissed.
    However
The security is just not up to a person with a mental condition. My Dad soon worked out that he could open the battery chamber to stop the alarm altogether. He realised that the lock could be bypassed with a standard set of household scissors. I found that I was using a plastic glue gun to secure the thing closed in which case he would put something through the pill serving window and lever the inner tray around until he could get at his pills.
In terms of being aware that he takes his pills on time I am no further forward than when I began. I can imagine this would be helpful for someone suffering for standard forgetfulness (although the problems dismissing the alarm soon get very annoying) but anyone with Alzheimer’s – you just cannot trust it.

My elderly mum was starting to get her tablets muddled. We had tried those dispensers with the individual boxes, but mum couldn’t remember if she had taken her tablets or not, so would either not take them, or take too many. Chemist tried sending her tablets in pre-dispensed blister packs, but mum still couldn’t remember if she had taken them or not.
So we decided to go with the expense and buy this electronic pill dispenser. Wow! What a difference!
Mum calls it her ‘spaceship’ and waits excitedly for it to beep at her! Loves it.
This dispenser has a clear lid, so you can see the tablets or empty chambers inside. Good to know when to refill it.
The lid is lockable (only has one key), so cannot be broken into to get at tablets.
First you will need to insert some batteries, which has a screw to keep the cover in place. You unlock the lid, lift it up, and set the clock to the correct time. There are 6 circular discs: daily = Mon to Sun(28 days), twice daily, three times a day= morning noon night, 4 times a day, etc, etc. Choose the disc you require and attach it in the tray.
You can set the electronic alarm to go off up to 6 times a day, for all the different times when you need to take tablets.
Fill the chambers with the relevant tablets, close the lid and lock it. I personally have taken the key home with me!
There are 3 alarm sounds, although they are not very loud. You can select which sound you want.
Then at the allotted time, the alarm goes off, and the tray moves around so that the chamber with the tablets in is now under the hole in the lid. You literally turn the whole spaceship over/upside-down and the tablets fall out. The first time, mum shook it, poked it, tried to press the buttons (they are under the lid) and eventually turned it upside-down and the tablets fell out into her apron pocket! She now knows to turn it upside-down onto the table.
By turning it upside-down it is the only way to shut the alarm off!
For mum who has just started to forget some things, it is perfect. If the chamber under the hole is empty: she has taken the tablets. She cannot access the next chamber to take too many.
For those who have to remember to take tablets at different times of the day, it is really helpful.
The only downside is the price. It is very expensive for what it does, but in mums case it is worth every penny.

Set dispenser up for twice a day but it keeps moving forward three spaces and still happens when we reset.

My 90 year old mum was having trouble remembering to take some of her medication she had a plastic box with four times a day compartments. We tried her pharmacy to ask about a box they do for elderly people but they were full so they couldn’t help. Looked on Amazon and found Tabtime which is brilliant. I now go and fill up her medication and the alarm and light flash when it is the correct time she should take them.

Unfortunately this product is not suitable for someone with dementia. She managed to shake it and extra tablets fell out and the others were all mixed up in unit.
Also I found it difficult to set the time even following instructions
