The Myprotein Impact Whey Protein in Vanilla flavor is a game-changer for anyone seeking an effective and delicious protein supplement. With its high protein content, impressive amino acid profile, and superior taste, it has become my go-to choice for muscle-building and recovery needs. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to take their fitness journey to the next level. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced athlete, this protein powder will undoubtedly help you achieve your fitness goals.

I simply mixed it with water and I’d describe the consistency as red/skimmed milk with vanilla flavouring. Wasn’t unpleasant but you most definitely can/should add to oats, smoothies etc to have a more enjoyable experience.

BUT unfortunately I had a reaction to something in this protein powder. Instant nausea and an instant (and I mean instant) migraine that felt like someone was pushing on my face. After some research I believe this is relatively common with protein powders, possibly the result of artificial sweeteners.

After my single use I won’t be using it again and am now stuck with a big bag of unused powder. If you’d like to avoid the same outcome as me and maybe you think you could have the same reaction, I recommend trying the instant protein drinks you can buy in a super market to see how you’d react.

All is not lost. There are alternatives for these situations and after some googling you can find protein powders that claim to avoid the ingredients that cause this reaction.

I normally don’t like the taste of protein shakes however this one tastes really nice. I prefer the taste when the shake is made with milk rather than water, as it tastes nicer when it is a tad thicker.

This actually makes a great tasting milkshake (strawberry) however I’m not sure it actually assists any sort of muscle gain, anyone using this product will inevitably be increasing their workout and I have to say I’m not sure the results are any better than previous gains without the products use!!

I purchased this because MaxiNutrition Cyclone is starting to get a bit expensive these days so I am trying other options. I only use one scoop in a protein shake after a 10+km run as part of an easy, convenient refuel to avoid feeling tired the next day.
I have used this once so far and I feel fine. Taste is good. No adverse reactions.
The one downside was the zip-lock would not close properly so I needed to use a clip.

I’ve been using this product for over twelve months and very happy with it. Myprotein has always provided me great results. Easy mixing, consistency and great protein. Just love strawberry cream flavors

I have tried, tested, and reviewed around 12 brands of protein powders and around 17 flavours in total, and so when my usual brand (PhD Nutrition) was out of stock on Amazon, I thought I would see what this MyProtein Impact would be like.

I am very active and enjoy long-distance running, cycling, indoor rowing, and strength training. To aid with maintaining muscle mass and to aid in recovery I usually consume PhD Nutrition powders, and occasionally purchase Nutravita Protein Powders via Amazon on subscription. It is these two brands that I compare other brands with as I have yet to meet any other brands that meet all my criteria (see below).

When I try new protein powders such as this one from MyProtein, I ask myself the same set of questions.
    1. Does it taste good?
    2. Does the powder mix well with liquid?
    3. Does it settle on the stomach?
    4. Does it have good nutritional value?
    5. Is it good value for money?
    6. What else to consider?

    1. Following the instructions I used 1 heaped scoop in 250ml of oat milk and shook for around 20 seconds. It produced a very smooth frothy milkshake. Taste-wise, if I am honest, there wasn’t much “cookie” flavour, it just tasted like a vanilla milkshake. However, for me, it was incredibly sweet, bordering too sweet.
    2. As mentioned, if mixed really well, with no lumps.
    3. It settled perfectly on the stomach, with no churning, etc.
    4. With regards to the nutritional content, this MyProtein powder does have a good amount of protein per 100g at 79g which is comparable to PhD at 82g. MyProtein does have quite a bit of sugar, but I like having a carbohydrate hit after a hard workout.
    5. In terms of price (£15.79) at the time of review in October 2022, it is comparable with the two brands I usually use out at just over £17 (for Nutravita) and £16 (PhD).
    6. Other things to consider? I found it impossible to get a good airtight seal once open and had to resort to using a clip-it style fastener.

In summary, this is a great protein powder, but just a bit too sweet, and is at a very reasonable cost, and I can therefore recommend it to you.
